My Story
Dr. Batz is a double board-certified Family Medicine physician and Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine specialist who treats patients of all ages. She is particularly passionate about preventative medicine, women’s health, and Osteopathic medicine. Dr. Batz has over 8 years of experience practicing in traditional insurance based primary care practices, giving her an understanding of the challenges that negatively impact the doctor-patient relationship and make comprehensive, individualized care difficult to provide. She is excited and thankful for the opportunity to practice Direct Primary Care. Her passion for this model of care stems from a core value that patients deserve a meaningful and connected relationship with their primary care physician. Direct Primary Care supports patients and doctors having the time they need and deserve together to work to optimize a patient’s health.
Dr. Batz grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame taking a little detour to study the arts for two semesters in Rome. She then found her way to the country roads of West Virigina for medical school, intrigued by Osteopathic Medicine and a holistic approach to treating patients including the use of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). Working at a local conference as a graduate teaching fellow in the OMM department, she met some lovely folks from Maine, matched there successfully for residency, and ultimately decided to call Maine home.
Dr. Batz lives with her husband, John, and sweet dog, Gemma. When she isn’t cheering on the Fighting Irish, she loves to garden, get in a good sweat on her Peloton, and experiment with recipes in the kitchen especially if they include baking sourdough or brewing kombucha!
